About the Artist

Chris Minix-Koenig, also known as Spider Woman, has been a professional artist and massage therapist in Sacramento, California for the past 27 years. Classically trained in watercolor and oil painting, Chris has also gained extensive experience while working as a sign painter, graphic artist, and muralist. Her watercolors and other mixed media artwork have been in many galleries and juried shows, both locally and regionally.

In 1995, Chris put her gallery shows on hold in order to concentrate on opening a local day spa. Since that time she has continued to explore new mediums and expand her artwork, which include clay sculpture, stone and wood carving, and most recently, fused glass. Chris fell in love with fused glass and its multitude of artistic possibilities and, as a result, is currently creating works of art that are both esthetically beautiful as well as functional.
